Funky Town Brewery Review

Mike swung by Funky Town brewing after fishing, and they were packed. Seems like all the breweries out there were busy, including Paradox.

We sample two beers from Funky Town, an Amber Lager, which we believe is named “Let’s Boogy”, and a Milk Stout named “Far Out”.

In all honesty, the beers weren’t very good. We’re hoping it’s a fluke, and with the pandemic causing strange closings and shifts in the supply chain, we’re hoping that normally the beers taste better, and maybe these have been sitting around too long.

The Amber Lager had a off flavor to it, especially in the finish, and maybe some DMS in the aroma. The DMS could be corn, and we’re not sure how the beer was formulated. It was still drinkable, but as it warmed the off flavor became more dominant.

The Milk stout had a nice aroma, but a flavor we can best describe as sour like sour milk, or maybe “spoiled”, was pretty dominant.

We’ll have to head back out there at some point and see if this was indeed a fluke, maybe after all the COVID-19 stuff dies down.

If you have any feedback on your experience with Funky Town, please feel free to leave a comment here, or on the YouTube Video, we’d love to find out more.
