Episode 15: The four “C”‘s; Cogstone, Crowlers, Cheesesteaks and C hops

We’re back for another remote video session, and this time, we have some Cogstone beer. Due to a fortuitous string of events, we both stopped by Cogstone Brewing and local Cheese Steak seller Taste of Philly within a day of each other.

Sorry about the typo in the opening slide, it’s supposed to read Cogstone, not Cogston. Mike’s fault.

This episode we sample Cogstone Brewing’s COS Common, a California Common, and Cream Ale. We’re talking about Philly Cheesesteaks, and the upcoming Big Brew at Pike’s Peak Brewing.

The wort is going to be a IPA wort, Mike is going to transform it into a California Common, and ferment it with Kveik Yeast. Jesse is looking for suggestions for his beer, he’s going to turn it into a Pale Ale, and is looking for hop suggestions.

The Big Brew is a terrific event, and a great opportunity to get people into the hobby. This year, of course, is going to be a little different because of the restrictions to help slow the spread of COVID-19, but you can learn more about this year’s Virtual Big Brew at:
