Abracapocus Pale Ale – American Pale Ale (All Grain / BIAB)

I’m one of the seemingly few craft beer aficionados these days that isn’t a complete hop-head. I can take IPAs or leave them. That said, it’s probably not much a surprise to learn that I had never brewed an IPA or pale ale. But, our homebrew club is going to be holding a Pale Ale competition very soon and I thought I’d finally check that box on my “to brew” list. So as I was researching recipes, I remembered seeing an old Homebrewtalk thread listing the top 100 recipes on the site. Number 20 is Da Yooper’s House Pale Ale. That seemed to be just what I was looking for and it seemed to be a great recipe judging by the comments in the thread. Well, after brewing it, I can see what the fuss is all about. I think the next time I brew this, I may juice up the hops just a bit, but having only Cascade hops is great (assuming you like cascade hops, that is) because they really are the star of the show in this recipe.

In case you’re wondering about the name, I’m a huge Looney Tunes fan so I’ve named this one as a nod to Hocus Pocus Hare.
