Sick Call Ranger ESB
ABV: 5.2%
IBU: 59
A really nice ESB, malty, as dark as my soul, and pleasantly bitter. Has the classic IPA hoppiness to it, chinook, cascade, and centennial. More of an “American” ESB rather than a traditional ESB, but still a great beer.
Jesse had this one as well, so maybe he’ll chime in with his thoughts.
[JESSE] — So, I feel compelled to offer up a mea culpa for this review. Three things leap to mind; this write up is late, I was sick and this was the first “Thirsty Thursday” that I had attended since returning from a business trip. I mention all of these because I was rather more focused shooting the bull with the guys while simultaneously concentrating on not passing out from my cold than I was on what the beer tasted like. Not to mention, I’m certain my cold was throwing off my palate.
Anyway enough of that. I quite enjoyed this beer. I agree with Mike that it was nicely bitter and by that I mean that it had just the right amount of bitterness.
