Good Day IPA
I’ve started to make note of the IBU of the various beers that I order. Of course, IPAs are typically pretty high, which is good, that’s the selling point of them, right? As I was looking over FH’s menu however, I was surprised to see that the Good Day IPA had an IBU rating of 71! Woo hoo! I know what I’m gonna get for my second beer (I had a Sticky Paws as beer #1)!
I have one word to describe this beer – piney. I found the pine flavor to be strong to the point of distraction. As with the Sticky Paws, I didn’t dislike the beer to the point of not wanting to finish it, but it was kinda close. It took me a while to finish it. Apart from the pine flavor, I found it to be a great beer. I thought that with an IBU rating of 71, it was going to blow my head off, but it was actually fairly smooth. I might have to give this one another try in the future – maybe my palate was just “off” that day.
