I have a bit of a love hate relationship with pumpkin beers. Well, that’s not entirely true, I have a bit of a love hate relationship with anything pumpkin flavored. You see, I hate cloves, I don’t care for ginger or cinnamon, and I’m undecided on nutmeg. However, then those spices are put together just right, nothing too heavy handed, then I love what results. Yea, I know, weird.
Too heavy with any of them, and I’m not going to be a fan.
Uggs not Drugs was a little heavier on the cloves than I would have preferred, but I have to admit, I dug it. The beer itself, being an amber, was fairly light, and the backup of the slight coffee and nutmeg flavors were really nice.
The color is just perfect, it looks like a pumpkin beer for sure, and very bright as well. I don’t know that I would want a full glass of this, but I think it may be one of my favorite pumpkin beers so far.
