Irish Red
I’m a big fan of the Irish Red style. I just love this copper colored beer, it’s easy to drink, and the malt backbone isn’t overpowering. I’ve had several Irish Reds (and amber beers too) where the brewer over does the malt a bit, and you get a bit of astringency or harshness that I don’t really care for. That was absolutely not the case with Cogstone’s Irish Red.
The malt backbone was there, but it finishes clean, and satisfingly crisp.
The only thing that would have made it better, is if it had a bit of caramel / toffee flavor to it, but otherwise, it’s perfect, and I would gladly drink it any day.
