The Golden Avalanche Brewing Company is located in the small college town of Kutztown, PA (about 30-45 minutes south-west of Allentown, PA). Located conveniently on Main Street in the middle of town. I believe that it’s co-located with the Kutztown Tavern. I seem to get the impression that the Tavern is the restaurant/bar and GABC is the brewing business. It is a very comfortable place to have a bite and a few beers. According to my sister, the space used to be a hardware store. While it doesn’t appear that they kept anything to maintain that vibe, it was obviously an old building that likely saw many different types of businesses come and go. The floors seems to be original wood (squeaks and all) but the rest is a mix of modern and contemporary styles. Like I said, very comfortable. We went for a late lunch so the place had very few customers, but it looked like it could accommodate a fair number of folks. And since this is a college town, I can imagine that the joint starts jumping on weekends when school is in session.
