Let’s get one thing out the way right up front. I know how to spell the word “deuce”, however, apparently, someone associated with Dueces Wild did not and, somehow, the name stuck. Personally, I don’t really care, it adds some character, but it did make finding the place the first time a little difficult since Google, Apple and the other maps services aren’t in on the joke. Not to make the job any easier, they’re tucked away from the road a bit behind a sandwich shop in an old strip mall just outside the North Gate of Peterson AFB. So make a note of the name when (not if) you make your way there to sample one of the outstanding beers, they’re definitely worth looking for.
The brewery’s taproom is very much like many of the other local taprooms. Large, open and has an industrial feel. The brew equipment is separated from the seating area only by a low fence, allowing the customers to get a front-row seat view of the beer making process. Speaking of which their tap list is quite impressive with a nice variety of different brews.
If you like to have a reason to head out to a brewery, besides the obvious reason, these guys have events to lure you out many nights of the week. Food trucks, All you can devour taco Tuesday, live music on Thursdays, Wednesday night trivia…. Personally, the beer is enough to get me to go.
Dueces Wild Brewery TapRoom on Templeton Gap
The second location, the taproom on Templeton Gap, is very nice as well. Originally another brewery, Dueces took it over after that brewery closed. It’s a bit less industrial, which actually makes for a quieter environment which we quite enjoy.
Maybe a bit on the smaller side, it still has room to seat quite a few people, with some larger communal tables, a nice sized bar, and several two seat barrel tables. All the brewing is done at the brewery on Peterson.
