Brewer’s Advent Calendar (2021) Beer Review Part 1

The first 12 Days of Christmas.

It’s that time of year again! The Brewer’s Advent Calendar is here. The Calendar has 24 German beers, one for each day of December leading up to Christmas day, and overall we’ve been very happy with them. We’re going to do a quick review of beers 1 – 12 in this episode, with a second episode for beers 13 – 24 coming soon.

If you already have yours, this will give you an idea of what’s in store for you. Feel free to come back and comment on if you agreed with our review or not.

Realistically, if you haven’t picked yours up yet, then it’s too late. Costco sells these starting sometime in November, and they’re usually gone pretty quickly. If you like what you see, set yourself a reminder for next year.

The selection for the first 12 are

  • 4 Helles beers
  • 1 Weissbier
  • 1 Dortmunder Export
  • 1 Schwarz Bock
  • 1 Kellerbier
  • 1 Vienna Lager
  • 1 Fest Marzen
  • 1 German Pilsner
  • 1 Weizen Bock

Really, out of all of these 12, there was only one that we weren’t crazy about. Want to see what the rest were like? Here’s a link to part 2

Would like to get this type of calendar of beers. Could you put me on a mailing list of notifications when a calendar is being issued? Is it only once a year at Christmas?

    • Thanks for the feedback Christine! Yes, this particular calendar only comes out around Christmas, I believe COSTCO gets them in stock sometime around the end of October / early November. We don’t really have any sort of notification service for it set up, but they usually place them in the front of the store at one point, and the beer aisle at another.
