Strategy for taking the Online Exam
- Don’t Panic!
- Read the BJCP Exam prep guide on the BJCP Website
- Try different beer styles – Read the descriptions, review them.
- Memorize
a. The Faults / causes / fixes
b. The True and False Questions
c. The flaws allowed in which styles (ie, Sulfer in some lagers) - Strategy
a. It’s a multiple choice test.
b. 180 Questions in 60 minutes – 20 Seconds per question
c. Buy a 3 pack of attempts
d. Prepare your workspace
i. Cheat Sheets
ii. Beer Style Compare O Matic
iii. Style Guidelines
e. Take a “practice attempt” – many people end up passing.
f. If you don’t know the answer, guess, mark it, move on.
g. When you get to the end, start digging into the marked questions.
