Paradox Beer Company
If you’re in the springs, it’s a bit of a drive, but well worth it. Paradox’s tap room has quite a number of their sour and wild fermentation beers on tap, and some older bottles, which probably are no longer available for purchase in your local store, of the famous Skully line available for purchase in the tap room. In fact, the beer list is organized is such a way as to highlight the beers that are widely available and those that can be found in the taproom only.

Paradox’s complex creations have always been a bit of a treat for me, I’ll pick up a bottle at the store and then share it with my wife and friends, but it’s a great opportunity to be able to buy a 5 or 10 oz pour of what’s available, and sample far more of their beers in one day than I’d normally be able to in any reasonable amount of time. One thing to note is that they actively encourage patrons to create their own blends. Do you think the Mango Habanero and the High Biscus would taste good together? They’ll let you give it a try.
How was the taproom you ask? Awesome! It’s as unique as their beers are. A huge amount of the decorations and just plain texture of the place is from recycled barrel staves and parts. The artwork that isn’t made out of barrels is unique and pretty darn cool. It’s really a neat place, with a great view of the mountains. On top of all that, the staff is terrific, and incredibly knowledgeable about their beers.
If the beer itself isn’t reason enough to go and visit, then I hope I’ve convinced you. Why don’t you grab some friends, and take a nice drive out there?
