Coconut Wireless
Well, I think it’s safe to say that this is the most unusual beer I’ve ever tried. It is listed as a golden ale, which I suppose is appropriate, but that doesn’t really describe it at all. My coworker spoke to the bra tender who described it as “Coconut water with alcohol”. That is a much better description.
This beer doesn’t have much of a nose, very slight coconut. It started creamy and very light and finished with a very definite coconut flavor. I never really picked up an alcohol flavor. Reading this description, you might suspect that I would next say that this would be a good beer for a warm summer day or to drink while grilling, and some people may think that, but I found it to be just a little too creamy and sweet to drink a lot.
I’m glad to have tried it, and would recommend it to people to try it for novelties sake, but now that I have, I’m going to move on to a “real” beer if I visit Maui Brewing again.
The name reminds me of something from Gilligan’s Island 🙂
Does the bartender really go by “Bra tender”? They totally should if they don’t.
