The missus and I found ourselves in the Black Forest area last night in need of dinner and decided to stop by Black Forest Brewing Company. Mike and I had been to BFBC ins the past and, to be brutally honest, neither of us were terribly impressed but I thought, what the heck. Well, let me tell you, I’m really glad I decided to give them another try.
This brewery is kind of out of the way. It’s a very short drive from Colorado Springs, but, if you’re not used to the drive, it seem like you’re out in the middle of nowhere. So, with that in mind, I assumed it would be quiet Wednesday and my wife and I could enjoy our food and beer and, most importantly, some casual conversation with each other. Well, I was quite mistaken. The joint was jumpin’! It was trivia night, which I’m sure attracted quite a few people, but the non-trivia playing bar area was packed as well. I got the impression that it was a simple matter of local residents supporting a local establishment as there were many handshakes and hugs witnessed. Even with it being full to capacity, it was still a very pleasant place to hang for an hour or two.
