December’s Visit to Metric Brewing
Unfortunately Jesse couldn’t join me this week for beer Thursday. He said something about “meeting some friends from out of state”, but it sounded like weak excuse, and frankly I think he made it up 🙂
So for this trip, my lovely wife joined me.
When I was thinking about where I wanted to go, the first place that popped into my head was Metric Brewing. I’ve been really impressed with their beers this year, and with the every changing tap, there’s always something new to try. I thought this would be a great opportunity to introduce my wife to the place.
We were not disappointed.
I didn’t realize how many beers I had sampled until I started writing up the posts for the visit. Although the “Boris Russian Imperial Stout” wasn’t really my cup of tea, all of the beers were really great, which is something that I’ve come to expect from Metric.
The really outstanding beers this time around were “Stupid Sexy Flanders“, “Soulless Ginger Snap Brown Ale“, Yukon Cornelius Peppermint Hot Chocolate Stout” and “Smoke Show Smoked Amber“.
Although the weather was pretty darn cold, which kept us inside instead of the outdoor area where we normally sit, we had a great time talking beer and music with Morgan.
