Newport in the Rockies New England IPA
This beer was full of surprises for me. First, the style is labeled as a New England IPA so I was expecting this to be of a “hazy” variety. Imagine my surprise when it turned out to be super clear – like kristalweizen clear. Once I got past that, I found the second surprise. It had a very cirtrusy nose, so much, in fact, I thought it was going to be overpowering but that wasn’t the case at all. While it did have distinct citrus taste, it wasn’t bitter and it was exactly enough to keep this beer light and refreshing.
