Episode 26: Tommyknocker and East Coast Stash Tasting
We’ve been having some trouble getting the BJCP Examples for category 2B, International Lager, primarily because of the shutdown of the brewing in Mexico. We’re also unsure of the condition of the Yuengling Lager that Jesse has, it’s been sitting in a sunny room, in a green bottle, so it could be skunky.
So this week, we dipped into our stash of Tommyknocker beers, and also grabbed a couple of beers out of our East Coast Stash.
The beers we tasted this episode:
- 2SP Brewing Delco Lager – 4% ABV and 14 IBU
- Tommyknocker Chile Lager – 5.3% ABV and 27 IBU
- TommyKnocker Ember King Imperial Nut Barrel Charred Brown Ale – 9.2% ABV and 57 IBU
- Dock Street King Juice Double IPA 8.5% ABV and 85 IBU
All the beers were really great, but man oh man, do the guys at Tommyknocker know how to brew some beer! So far we’ve had a number of their beers on the episodes, and haven’t had a stinker yet.
Going forward, we’re still going to look for and / or brew what we’ve pulled from the hamster ball, but in the meantime, we’re going to try and figure out what styles we can get, and have episodes for those.
